I am a 4th year psychology PhD student at the University of Birmingham, UK.
My supervisors are Dr Claudio Tennie, Dr Sarah Beck, and Prof Ian Apperly. I am a member of the Cognitive Development Research Group in Birmingham, UK and the Research Group "Tools and Culture among early Hominins" in Tübingen, Germany.
I am curious about why and how humans have become the way they are. My PhD has looked at the origins of material culture in human children. For this, I studied children's spontaneous tool-use abilities and their ability to acquire and produce cumulative culture.
An interdisciplinary view on my research topics is very important to me, which is why my PhD colleague Elisa Bandini and I organized three very successful interdisciplinary Culture Conferences in 2016, 2015 and 2014.
